Entryway and Dining Room Decor – Jewel Tone Paint Swatches

Living and Dining Room Color Palette

I’ve been MIA for quite some time now, 2014 has left its furious mark across many of us already. Dealing with the sudden loss of a loved one, financial burden and the un-welcoming loom of going back to work and leaving my baby has left me feeling depleted.

None the less, life goes on and we’re still slowing chipping away the old layers of paint around our home and whacking a new fresh coat here and there.

To keep you up-dated, we’ve put up wainscoting around the bar and it looks fantastic! I can’t even believe it’s that same old wood clad, 60’s monstrosity that was there before the makeover. We also decided to re-paint the entryway and re-shuffle some furniture. I’ll post some detailed up-dates soon!

I’m also happy to announce….. Drum roll please!!!

Ta-aaaaaa! We chose our flooring and paint colors! It was totally worth the wait wasn’t it?

Our feature wall is Safe Harbour by Taubmans. It’s a beautiful turquoise that we’ll use to feature accent pieces around the living and dining areas, alongside hints of purples and metallics. It’s all about jewel toned luxury! To neutralize and create a more open feel to the house we’ve settled on this soft grey, Silver Charm and a crisp white, Magical Moonlight also by Taubmans.

To balance the cooler shades we’ve purchased these New Age Oak, laminate floating floor boards from Masters. They match the colours we’ve chosen beautifully and at only $12.50 per square metre we can’t go wrong. Farewell ugly pink tiles… finally!
